AUSCULTAION POINTS

Auscultation

Rich debuted his Soundscape Art Piece, Auscultation Points at his Ecotopian Tool Kit workshop in June 2024 at the Morris Arboretum and Gardens in Philadelphia, PA. This soundscape encourages you to immerse yourself and reflect on the parts of the arboretum that we typically hear, along with those sounds we cannot hear without assistance. These unheard sounds play a larger role in the health and stability of the ecosystem than we often realize.

*Currently Installed at the Morris Arboretum and Gardens in Philadelphia, PA (September 2024)*

A Tourist

“A Tourist” is a sonic narrative art piece that takes you through spaces and scenes, both serene and intense, the duality of planet earth from a distance. A never ending contemplative-loop that allows the viewer to experience all we have to offer, good and evil as, “A Tourist”. We recommend you listen on a good pair of headphones for the best effect.

This piece had the pleasure of being apart of Radiophrenia, radio art installation that broadcasts from the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Glasgow, Scotland in 2020.

Civil Disobedience in E-Minor

A sound story and audio collage mood piece, made in 2016 as a reaction to the widespread injustices taking place and the political climate taking shape. The piece is a collage of collected audio clips from news agencies and people on the ground, as well as abstract sound design. We recommend you listen on a good pair of headphones for the best effect.

Trigger Warning: the piece contains sounds from sonic weapons used by police vehicles to disorient, cause head pain, and disperse protestors. The piece also contains audio clips of very strong language including racist language.

Role: Sound Designer - Richard Hamilton

*Played at the Megapolis Audio Festival

*A part of the resident Radio Art program Radiophrenia, which broadcasts annually from the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow, Scotland in 2017
